I'm not so lazy!

BbKingsHey, there! I hope everyone enjoyed a day off for Memorial Day and had wonderful weather. We've been having some strange weather lately. It was a gorgeous weekend, but tonight is rainy and cooler.

Anyway, you didn't come here to read about the weather! I actually got off my lazy butt and took some pictures of my misadventures and knitting. I might even throw in a Yoda here or there!Cowboy_hat

So, BFF and I went to Memphis for Memphis in May a couple weeks ago. And guess what! We were rained out! We still managed to have a great time, but we didn't see any  bands. I didn't even bring appropriate clothing for the mud we would have encountered. I would have lost my shoes, and we can't go and have that, can we? So, we entertained ourselves by checking out Beale Street, drinking "Big Ass Beers" To Go, and seeing the ducks at the Peabody Hotel. They sure were cute!! And let's just say I had more than one Big Ass Beer!!

I alKDHeadquartersso was able to visit my sorority national headquarters. I went there on a Sunday after  driving past Elvis' house, so it wasn't open. But I was able to see how pretty it is! AOT, Ladies!

And I've made some progress on the Tweedy Coat Thingy. I've put the sleeves on waste yarn and am moving along on the length of the coat. The way the weather has been, I may be able to wear it once I'm done! My luck it'll jump from 50s to 90s in a few days. But I'm knitting and loving it!! Tweed2

I've worked on the Blooming Cotton Scarf, but it requires more concentration, so I'm just not having the time to work on it. By the time I get knitting time, I'm not into thinking. You all know what I mean...don't try to deny it.

And I'll leave you with this:

Have you seen my (base)ball?

Oh, dear! It's a blizzard...

SnowBunnyYoda Well, folks, I guess it's that time of year, again. We have more snow in the forecast. Ironically, I am watching the original The Shining on tv right now. I can only imagine how Jack felt being trapped in that hotel with all that snow...I'm sure the crazy ghosts didn't help either! :-)

Anyway, we've been in that cycle of snow, deep freeze, snow, deep freeze, snow...well, you get the point. Sometimes I can get Princess Yoda to play in the white, cold, wet stuff and it's really cute! Here she is on Saturday just about the time we got up. I tried to get her to play with me, but she really wasn't into it. Here is was kind of chasing me, but after the picture was taken decided against it. To be honest, I don't blame her. We did just get up!

"They" are forecasting a blizzard for us Tuesday and then below zero (F) immediately following, so I'm not sure what's going to happen. I'm sure I'll be shoveling my yard so someone can go potty. Right. Stay warm and dry!!

Who wants more Yoda?

CuddlyYoda BFF and I were staying in last night and watching tv when Yoda decided she wanted to get in on the cuddly action. She managed to get her rolly-polly self wedged in between BFF's legs while he was stretching out on the couch. Man, she's got it rough, doesn't she?

Don't worry, I didn't forget about modeling my finished Something Red Black. I ordered a new memory card from Amazon and am waiting for it to get here!

Winterized Yoda

Winterizedyoda Well, it's that time of year again, time to pull out Yoda's sweater. It's been getting unseasonably cold here, so we need to keep the little princess warm on her potty breaks. I've even threatened her with the boots (little does she know I returned them, but that was hilarious!!). Maybe she'll learn to potty a little quicker. I can hope and wish, right?

In knitting news, I've picked up the Something Red, er, Black again, and I aSomethingblack4m going to town on the ribbing. I've done all the increasing, so I'm just knitting away on 2x4 Ribbing until the bottom. Then the sleeves. I'm actually really looking forward to finishing this sweater. It's looking very clean and polished and WARM. I don't know if because it's fuzzy that I think this is going to be the warmest, coziest sweater ever, but I do.

So, I've begun debating on the next project already. You all know the drill. I have enough yarn in my stash, and enough patterns to keep me busy for a while. I'm thinking that since my last two were cardigans, I will do a regular pullover of some sort. Perhaps Tang from Custom Knits. I've never done a top down sleeve like that, so it would be interesting to try and learn. But I still have the Cable Down Raglan to start back up and some others I've been thinking about.

I'm so close I can taste it...

Chichoodie6 I am so close to finishing the Chic Basic Hoodie. In fact, I only have a few more stitches left to bind off. I'm so excited to be done. Then I can go ahead and finish up the Something Black. I've tried this multiple projects at once thing, and it's not working out qYodaandbffuite the way I was hoping it would. I still end up focusing on one project over another anyway. Well, you can't say I didn't try, right?

Yoda and BFF were having some fun camera time while they were waiting for me to get home from work the other night. I think Yoda is sending the "don't mess with me" vibe. Don't ya think?

I also want to thank everyone for the great virtual hugs and sentiments about my grandmother. It really is appreciated!!

Chic Hoodie Update

Chichoodie5 I think I have second sleeve syndrome. I hate finishing sleeves, but yet, I love long sleeves. Ironic, I know. But I've been plugging away on the Chic Basic Hoodie, and I hope to be finished with it completely by the weekend. I just need to get me some Busyyoda buttons, a half a sleeve, and I'll be done. Now that I'm moving along on the second sleeve, it's really not that bad, but getting enthusiastic about it was a chore.

I think the winter weather is slowing everyone down just a bit...Today I was looking out the window at work wondering what happened to the city. It looked as if someone erased it! Who can really manage energy in that kind of weather?

Yoda really has not been excited about anything but her new bone!

Just a typical Sunday...

Bearssoxyoda Ok, maybe not that typical. There was a Bears and Sox game on in October, so that is very a-typical. Since the Sox were down 2 games in the series, we decided to pull out the magical bandanna that got us through the World Series a few years ago. But the Bears have been in need of some help from the magic bandanna, too. Thus, we have Yoda sporting two different team bandannas!! And believe it or not, it worked...

...though it didn't work tonight for the Sox. Chicago started out with two teams in baseball playoffs, and now we have none. Boo! Sad, but whatcha gonna do? I'm gonna watch football!

Are you sure it's not winter?

Beardown2 Because it sure feels like it out there! We've been having some rainy, cold weather so far this week. I was able to wear a sweater to work...that's crazy!Happybdlillie2

So the weekend was good...somehow the Bears managed to win against the Colts. (You know I like both teams, so I'm not sad either way...) BFF came over and we grilled out for the regular season opener of Bears Football. Yoda was all set in her pretty scarf, and BFF matched her in his hat. I felt a little left out...only a little. I made Rachel Ray's burger of the month--Apple-Cheddar Turkey Burger. And I have to say it was fantastic. A little messy, but tasted great. If you have not yet discovered Rachel Ray's Everyday magazine, please hop over to the site and check it out! MmRustedroot4m...

This past week was Lillie's birthday! She turned 3, and had a little celebration. Here are Yoda and I wearing our party hats! Doesn't Yoda totally look like she loves Mickey ears?

And don't fret, there was knitting! I didn't completely finish the Rusted Root #2, yet, but I am darn close. I think tonight I'll get myself to the ribbing and work on that tomorrow during the commute. Soon, my friends, soon!

Ressurected

Ribbypullisleeve1 Yeah, so I picked up the Ribby Pulli again. I started on the first sleeve and I'm not sure how much I'm liking it. I followed the directions, but instead of 2x2 ribbing, I'm going to have some weirdness because of how it's all working out. I'm thinking I might just rip it out and alter the way that I do the increasing. Or go back to my original plan of doing it top down...hmmmMorningyoda

I thought it's been a while since Yoda made an appearance, so here she is already for me to leave for work. She gets up on the couch and awaits her treat every morning...Spoiled!!!

Yoda Time

OutdooryodaSo, to distract you all from the fact that I have not knit a stitch at all in the last week, I'm going to show off Yoda pictures. I decided to take Friday off so that I could, well, do anything I damn well wanted. It was a beautiful week, and it was so hard to stay inside and work, so I rewarded myself for actually staying strong by not going to work on Friday.

Yoda and I took advantage of the great weather on Friday by playing in the yard. Here she is all happy from running around and chasing me. How cute is she? Yoda has been enjoying this wonderfully mild summer so far. Partyyoda

Saturday, Yoda went to the spa. I had my graduation party, so she needed to be in tip-top shape. She came home and we put on her pretty new pink bandanna. She was all set for the party...She wasn't ready for the number of people I had at my house, though.

Poopedyoda She was a good girl and was able to be off the leash in the backyard (no fence at my house). She was social with everyone, except my cousin's new dog. They didn't get a long quite so well, but Yoda did very well with my friend's two year old niece. At the end of the day, Yoda was all partied out! Doesn't she look exhausted...she looks about how I felt by 10pm.
