What I did on my Christmas Vacation

by admin on January 2, 2013

in Chic Knits, Craftsy, Great American Aran Afghan, Seamless Artemisia Sweater, Top Down Icelandic Sweater, Velynda

Since I was super busy this year, I wasn’t able to take full advantage of all the vacation I have accrued for the year, so since it’s a use or lose it kind of thing I took the last 2 weeks of the year off. That gave me plenty of time to get some stuff done! Included in that is the Craftsy Top-Down Icelandic Sweater. I really think it turned out great considering I have never done something stranded or steeked! The one thing I’m not crazy about is how the bottom flares a bit because of the ribbon. I think getting that wonkiness all worked out is something that happens with practice.

It was a bit liberating being able to just cut open my sweater. Magical. I would recommend this class to anyone looking to try a technique.

After completing the Icelandic Sweater, I decided to keep working on my ChicKnits Velynda sweater. No pics yet, but I’m getting close to dividing for the yoke. Pictures to come soon!

And I also finished another square on the Aran Afgan. That brings me to 3. I need to get moving on that. I keep getting cashmere in the mail and no squares are being produced. I knew this would happen, but I started it so I’ll continue on!
