My love of Craftsy Continues

in Craftsy, Sassy Librarian Blouse

I’ve been trying to get into more garment sewing lately. Why buy clothes that I kind of love when I can make what I really love?

I am taking some classes from Vogue Fabrics here in the city, and those are wonderful. I love that there is a live person giving us tips and tricks. However, those kinds of classes have some drawbacks, as well. Pretty much all the same reasons the Craftsy peeps decided to start an online class platform – expensive, only at certain days/times, etc. I won’t be a commercial, I promise! So, in order to get myself moving a bit faster, I signed up for quite a few Craftsy sewing classes. Then I can take them at my own pace and forge ahead when I feel adventurous.

I just recently finished the Sassy Librarian Blouse class. I tend to watch the class all the way through and then start over. That way I’m not surprised by something when I’m working on the item. I decided that since this was my first top, I would go sleeveless. I think that’s because I know how much fun sleeve caps can be from all the flat knitting I used to do! The next one will be with sleeves. That way I am practicing the skills I already learned and then learning something new.

What do you think?
