I have been bad

in Frost Diamonds Shawl, Rocky Coast Cardigan

RockyCoastCardigan5Instead of working on the knitted item that has a deadline, I’ve been working on the Rocky Coast Cardigan. The pictures here are a few days old – I almost have one sleeve done. I have tried to sit down and work on the lace wedding shawl, but it requires a lot of attention. When I am on a conference call I can pretty much knit on the Rocky Coast Cardigan without thinking. That and I really, really want to wear the damn thing. I’m pretty much obsessed with it.

Boyfriend saw me trying it on the other day and said, “I really like that one. It’s

RockyCoastCardigan6nice.” Coming from someone who rarely has opinions on this stuff, that’s saying something.

My mom, however, has been keeping me honest. She asks every day how the shawl is coming. I’ve been so anxious about not having an update that I finally got my butt in gear and picked it up again. I’ve finished Chart A and Chart B (1 of 2 repeats). I’m starting right back at the beginning of Chart B very, very soon (as in today after work is over). The thing looks a mess, though – a scrunched up ball of yarn withFrostDiamonds2 holes. I’m hoping after it’s done and blocked that I actually have something that looks like a lace shawl and not a dish rag.

I love how it’s looking so far! You did the bands first, huh, instead of the sleeves?

Yeah, I went the easy way out and did the collar first. The sleeves are going pretty quickly, though.
