in Custom Knits - Tang, Wendy Bernard

Now that Labor Day has passed, summer is over right? Ha! I wish. I think we are still looking at 90 degree F days ahead here in Chicago. I’m not really looking forward to that. I love cooler weather that requires a sweater and nothing else – no heavy coats, God forbid no boots, etc. […]

I promised that I would post some pictures of my FOs. Well, here you go! I have everything layered on my body double, and I just didn’t do that for funny sake. I actually have been putting everything on there as I finish it because it’s out of the way and nothing gets all messed […]

in Custom Knits 2- Ribbon, Wendy Bernard

It’s only taken me about 6 months to finally finish Ribbon. I originally started it because it had no sleeves, so I thought it would be a super quick knit. What the hell happened? I think I got bored, stopped traveling as much (thus no extra time), and got busy with life. Whatever the reason, […]

For some reason the other day I decided to pick up Ribbon. I had started it in December thinking it would be a quick knit and it soon fizzled. Quick because there are no sleeves! Anyway, I had the front and back all done waiting to be connected together. And then I noticed it – […]

Sigh. I have a lot of projects that I am working on and not enough time in the day. I decided to actually take a little inventory about things I am knitting and came up with this list: Cable baby Sweater – knitting is done. Need to sew on the snap band I made. Lazy! […]

I’m off to California again so I thought I would celebrate it by knitting something by Wendy Bernard. The one thing that really caught my eye in her new book was the Ribbon shell. I am using Blue Sky Alpaca’s Silk Alpaca yarn for this. I tried to find the Lenpur, but everywhere I tried […]

in Custom Knits 1 - Favorite Cardigan, Wendy Bernard

I finished the favorite cardi just in time to wear it for Thanksgiving. I really like the fit of it and the yarn is terribly soft and comfortable. What do I hate about it? The yarn is already pilling!! I’ve worn the damn thing once and I already need to shave it. Sigh.

I was lucky enough for the stars to align and had the opportunity to take a Photography for Knitting class with Amy Swenson on Friday. Since the banks love to give people holidays, I was able to attend the middle of the day class at Wool and Company out in St. Charles. We learned about […]

I decided to start the Favorite Cardigan from Custom Knits. I’m using 1824 Wool in this dark teal color. The gauge is a bit larger than is called for in the pattern, but I’m actually happy about it. I wanted to make the sweater is a bit roomier than the original size, but not have […]

So, I am now down to one WIP – the Ribby Pulli. I have been working on sleeve #1, but I really want to cast on for something a bit more….more. I am really contemplating Velynda by Bonne Marie or the Favorite Cardigan by Wendy Bernard’s first book. If I were to start Velynda, I […]
