in Custom Knits 2- Ribbon, Wendy Bernard

Airport Knitting

I’m off to California again so I thought I would celebrate it by knitting something by Wendy Bernard. The one thing that really caught my eye in her new book was the Ribbon shell. I am using Blue Sky Alpaca’s Silk Alpaca yarn for this. I tried to find the Lenpur, but everywhere I tried said that it’s not available any more.

Then I saw it on Webs after I bought this stuff. That’s how it always happens, huh?

Anyway, I am very happy with the yarn. It’s very soft and silky. I do love alpaca too! This is a pretty easy pattern so far (at least once I realized that the ribbon pattern continued into the next column in the book. I kept trying to figure out what I was doing wrong. ) and pretty interesting to knit. Keeps me on my toes.

In book news, I’ve already added Wendy’s next book (accessories) to my Amazon Wishlist. And I also found and added Ann Budd’s new one – The Knitters Handy Guide to Top Down Sweaters! Too bad I have to wait until 2012 for these…
